LGBT/Questioning Counselling

: nowadays, it’s frowned upon for a counsellor to decline seeing a lesbian, gay, bisexual or sexuality-curious person (e.g. citing religious beliefs). Some counsellors may still work with LGBT clients albeit in a generic or heteronormative way (one might notice how the topic of “gay clients” may be appended as an afterthought).

Dean specialises in Counselling for LGBT(/QI)… spot the difference?

More than just an ally, Dean has a specialist interest in researching and practising counselling approaches for individual LGBT people, LGBT couple relationships and LGBT groups. Based on sound therapeutic approaches and personal research.

Dean is on leave for Easter (29/3 to 5/4).

Due to a busy time few appointments are currently available. Cases do conclude from time to time and you're welcome to reserve your preferred appointments for when they become available (get in touch…).

Times in red are the most popular, and usually the first to go.

Making an appointment for your first counselling session is easy. You even don’t have to continue after your first session, if you don’t wish to.

All you have to do is CONTACT ME saying when you’d like to meet (choose from my my available appointments). I will confirm that the appointment is still available, and will reserve it for us. Once I’ve confirmed our appointment, prepare to send me your £30 refundable deposit, which confirms and secures our first appointment together. We will then meet for our initial, one-off, let’s-see-how-this-goes session (sometimes called an assessment for counselling).

There is no obligation to continue past the first session if you don’t wish to. If we both find that the session was helpful we will arrange to meet weekly (same time, day and place as the first appointment) until our work is done (or done enough to end counselling…).
